I took up photography seriously on joining a camera club in 1988 and found my interest was mainly in taking landscapes. Now retired and living in North Yorkshire, I am close to some excellent countryside, but still enjoy travelling to other countries in search of new images. I took up digital capture in early 2004 and feel that this releases the inhibitions so that more pictures are taken. This gives more freedom to experiment and try out new ideas, although I generally fall back into landscape work. I enjoy both colour and monochrome, but I find that when I get a good monochrome image, it gives me a real buzz of excitement.
